Overview
CESAR-LCPC is general-purpose finite element software for civil, tunnel and geotechnical engineering, developed at LCPC / Université Gustave Eiffel since 1983 with its interfaces built by itech since 2003. One solver couples mechanics, hydrogeology, heat transfer and dynamics across independent CESAR 2D and CESAR 3D interfaces, modelling staged construction and real soil-structure interaction. It is a simulation platform, not a code-checking package.

Applications

Conventional/NATM, TBM-bored and cut-and-cover tunnel modelling with sequential excavation, ground reinforcement (bolts, pipe umbrellas) and lining analysis, capturing soil convergence and surface settlement.

Deformation and stability of soil and rock slopes using c-phi reduction to derive a factor of safety, including reinforced slopes with nails, anchors and geogrids.

Bearing-capacity and settlement analysis of shallow and deep foundations, plus embankment construction and consolidation studies on soft ground.

Steady and transient seepage, dewatering inside excavations and drainage-system modelling in saturated and unsaturated conditions, including coupled flow-deformation problems.
