Everyday reinforced concrete design in the design office
Engineers size and code-check individual concrete members — beams, slabs, columns, footings and retaining walls — to Eurocode 2 with National Annex parameters.

One Family of Tools for Frames, Foundations and Wind Loads
A purpose-built program for every building component — concrete, steel and timber members, portal frames, footings and retaining walls — with each check worked to the Eurocodes and your National Annex.

Overview
RUNET is one family of tools for building component design — frames, foundations, wind loads — developed by RUNET Norway AS and supplied and supported in India by RAM CADDSYS. A purpose-built program covers each component: BETONexpress for concrete (EC2), STEELexpress and Steel Portal Frame for steel (EC3), WOODexpress for timber (EC5), FRAME2Dexpress for 2D frames, the marine tools cgFLOAT and cgWindWaves, and EUROCODEexpress spanning all eight structural Eurocodes. Every check cites its governing formula and Eurocode clause.

Applications
The day-to-day engineering work RUNET is used for.

Engineers size and code-check individual concrete members — beams, slabs, columns, footings and retaining walls — to Eurocode 2 with National Annex parameters.

STEELexpress and Steel Portal Frame handle EC3 member and connection checks and complete portal-frame industrial/agricultural buildings.

WOODexpress dimensions timber beams, floors and roof trusses to Eurocode 5 for residential and light commercial timber structures.

FRAME2Dexpress performs static and dynamic analysis of 2-dimensional framed structures with nodal/distributed loads and Eurocode 1 load combinations.
In the software

Official RUNET product imagery: the BETONexpress two-way flat slab design screen, showing the parametric input panel alongside the plan layout.
Reinforced concrete beam design for bending, shear, torsion, and deflection per Eurocode 2. Continuous beams, T-beams, and rectangular sections with full reinforcement schedule output.
Reinforced concrete column design for combined axial load and biaxial bending, including slenderness and buckling checks per EN 1992-1-1.
One-way and two-way slab design including flat slabs with punching shear checks, ribbed slabs, and precast hollow-core slabs per Eurocode 2.
Isolated pad footing, strip footing, and combined footing design under eccentric loading with bearing pressure checks and reinforcement sizing.
Cantilever and counterfort retaining wall design with stability checks, earth pressure calculation, and full structural design of the wall stem and base.

parameters user-selectable and editable
Reinforcement and detailing CAD drawings export to DXF, the native AutoCAD interchange format, for use in CAD packages.
Design calculation reports export to PDF for submission, archiving and sharing.
Reports can be exported to Word for further editing and incorporation into project documentation.
Compare
The specialized programs go deep on one material, while EUROCODEexpress spans every structural Eurocode in a single integrated workflow.
| Criterion | BETONexpress / STEELexpress / WOODexpress | EUROCODEexpress |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | BETONexpress / STEELexpress / WOODexpressOne program per material — concrete (EC2), steel (EC3, plus Steel Portal Frame) and timber (EC5) — each dedicated to that element type | EUROCODEexpressAll eight structural Eurocodes (EN 1990–EN 1998) — concrete, steel, composite, timber, masonry, geotechnical and seismic — in one integrated environment |
| Best for | Deep, everyday production design within a single material — a concrete-only or steel-only design office | Multi-material buildings where switching between separate concrete, steel and timber tools would break the workflow |
| Composite steel-concrete (Eurocode 4) | Not covered — BETONexpress and STEELexpress design concrete and steel separately, without EC4 composite checks | Strength: The only RUNET product offering Eurocode 4 (EN 1994-1-1) composite steel-and-concrete design |
| Output & National Annex | Strength: Selectable National Annex; reports export to PDF and Word; reinforcement/detailing drawings export to DXF | Selectable National Annex; design reports export to PDF; drawings export to DXF |
Firms doing high-volume single-material production often run BETONexpress or STEELexpress day to day and add EUROCODEexpress for multi-material or composite-design projects.
